The original Lincoln County Courthouse was built on this site in 1786 and records contained in the current courthouse building date back to 1779, some written on sheepskin. Lincoln County is fortunate that they are one of the few county courthouses that was not destroyed by fire and therefore has an extensive collection of historical records. The fiscal courtroom contains some of the finest portraits of past Lincoln County Judges.
The Lincoln County Courthouse currently houses the offices of Judge Executive, County Treasurer, Finance Officer and the Lincoln County Historical Society.
The Lincoln County Fiscal Court meets the 2nd and 4th Tuesday's at 9:00am in the upstairs courtroom.
